Here's another post in our series on the learnings from the book The Millionaire Next Door. A quote from page 40:
Most people want to be physically fit. And the majority know what is required to achieve this. But despite than knowledge, most people never become well conditioned physically. Why not? Because they don't have the discipline to just do it. They don't budget their time to just do it. It is like becoming wealthy in America. Oh, you want to all right, but you play lousy financial defense. You don't have the discipline to control your spending. You don't take the time to budget or plan. Note that under accumulators of wealth spend three times as much exercising per month as they do planning their investment strategies.
The road to wealth is not all downhill -- there is some effort required. While you don't have to spend 40 hours a week working on your finances, you do have to commit the minimal time needed to set goals, track your spending, and take action to make your money work as hard as possible for you. I know you've taken at least one step since you're reading this blog. I hope you find something here every day that helps you improve your finances.
