A Great Saving Story

Here's a story you money-savers are going to LOVE.

This summer we went to the local minor league baseball game with four free tickets that my company gave me. Total ticket value: $20.

Along with the tickets, we received a free VIP parking pass. Value: $6. (plus we didn't have to walk very far on a hot, hot day.)

It just so happened that it was "Kids Day" and every kid got a hot dog, fries, and a Coke for FREE. We have two kids, so we got two special offers. Total saved on overpriced stadium food: $12.

Next, our seating section won one of those wacky games they play with the audience between innings. Our prizes: each of the four of us got one $5 gift certificate to the Goodwill store in our area. Total value: $20.

Do you know how much stuff you can get at Goodwill for $20? Let's just say my wife and kids came home the other day with about five sets of clothes each (and one $5 gift certificate left.)

I guess August 7 was a great saving day for us, huh? ;-)
