How would you like to win a great book? Well, you can because I'm giving several away!!!!
I have five copies of Mind Over Money by Eric Tyson. I reviewed the book and liked it a lot (8 stars). I think you will too -- especially since it's FREE!!! Here's how you can participate:
Every day this week (five days total), I'll announce the winner of the Mind Over Money book for the previous day as well as the giveaway for that day. All you need to do is leave a comment, any comment, on that post. That's all you have to do.
I'll draw a name at random every morning of the giveaway. As for rules, they simply are:
- You can enter every day if you like, but you'll need to leave five comments (one per day). If you don't win one day, your entry doesn't carry over to the next day.
- Only one comment per day.
- The drawing will be final and I will be the complete and final judge (don't worry, I'll be fair).
- U.S. mailing addresses only.
Good luck! (Leave a comment on this post to enter tomorrow's giveaway.)

Question:
Am I leaving a comment on this post, or the original review post? Reading your entry it was not clear.

I was first introduced to Eric Tyson in his Personal Finance/Mutual Funds/Investing for Dummies books in the 90's. At the time, I was completetely new to personal finance and investing and enjoyed his style of writing. I'm sure I'll enjoy his new book, especially since FMF has given this one 8 stars! Please put my name in the hat, FMF. Thanks!

Comment on Book:
I believe that the topic of this book (although I have not yet read it) is the key to most financial problems and prosperity. It's mostly in the mind - that is, we all have more than we think. It kills me to see people who cant pay their rent, but have a huge screen TV in their tiny living room.

Leave a comment on the post I make every day about the giveaway. That would be this post for today.

This sounds like another money book I would be interested in reading! I'm really trying to make 2006 the year we get our acts together!

Well, I am up for leaving a comment in return for a chance at a book.
I should run some contests on my site at some point.

All of us budget-minded folks appreciate the value of your offer -- it's very generous!
I do no-cost budget counseling through my church, and the biggest impediment to success for most that I counsel is the emotional/psychological. I read your review, and it looks like this book could really help my counseling on these issues. I'm particularly interested in the "how to cope" material; it's not enough to simply say "now that you know your hang-up, don't do it any more."

Sounds like the kinda book that can help to keep my new year resolution on track!

I'm trying to get a better hold on my finances this year, and recently stumbled onto this site, and like the info. If you like this book, I would be very interested in finding more about it.

Thanks for this great offer! I am trying to help a friend with some real money issues and this book sounds like just the ticket. Undoubtedly I will probably learn that I have money issues of my own...

I was a little perplexed by your comment that the people who need this book would not buy it due to its name. Well, I have not bought it, so perhaps I need it:) Thank you for the opportunity to win it.
Posted by: Steve | January 23, 2006 at 01:37 PM
Steve -- Did I say that? I think I said that people who need it won't want to buy it. Why? It's something they don't want to hear/read about. They feel bad enough about their finances already -- they don't want to read a book telling them what a dufus they are.
But that's not what this book is about. It's about helping them -- and it will do that -- IF they read and apply it.

Phillip -- By "that" post, I meant the post that I leave every day. Sorry if it was confusing.

This is a great way to get those of us who read your posts via our RSS readers to visit your website. 2 random thoughts:
1. I tried to look for Moose Tracks' ice cream in my neighborhood supermarket, but they did have any. They do have a couple of flavors I would love to try.
2. Seeing how you have an add for ValueLine in the left column, could you do a write up on these investment letters and if they are good. I personally went with the No Load FundX newsletter but am now looking in to the Magic Formula Investing thing. It would be interesting to hear on thoughts on these systems.

Ankit --
1. Where do you live? I'm sure MT is there.
2. Yes, I would like to review several investment newsletters -- just looking for the time to do it. ;-)
