Well, coming off last week's successful Phil Town Day at Free Money Finance, we're going to devote today to David Bach, author of The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner, and we're doing it bigger and better than ever (so be sure to read this entire post for details). :-)
There's lots of stuff to cover just to review what I've already posted concerning David Bach and The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner. Here's a quick overview:
- David Bach's The Automatic Millionaire is one of my top-three personal finance books ever because it's both practical and powerful.
- I reviewed The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner and liked it (7 Stars).
- I've already posted a few pieces from David Bach and The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner including Using an Interest-Only Mortgage is a Recipe for Disaster for Most People, Don't Let a Bank Tell You How Much to Borrow for a Home, Six Ways to Get a Fast Downpayment for Your Home, How to Bubble-Proof Your Home, and Why Homeowners Get Rich and Renters Stay Poor.
- I've covered non-real estate issues David talks about like A Thought on Giving from David Bach and More on Giving from David Bach.
- I gave away five copies of The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner a couple weeks ago (more of that to come -- see below).
- I write a lot on real estate including buying a house, selling houses, getting/managing a mortgage, protecting your home and the like. The post that summarizes my main feelings on home ownership is My Formula for Buying a House, but if you want more general real estate information, see the real estate category here at Free Money Finance.
Whew! That's a lot to cover just for an introduction! Now we can get to the new stuff.
Today I'll be posting several thoughts from the book The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner. I'll also be including posts from an interview I conducted with David Bach -- VERY GOOD stuff here, you won't want to miss it. AND...interspersed among all of this, I'll be giving away several FREE copies of The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner! You'll want to come back to Free Money Finance often throughout the day to read the great stuff David has to say as well as try and win one of the books.
So, to start this day off with a bang, I'm going to give away the first copy of The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner right now! Here's how you can enter:
All you need to do is leave a comment, any comment, on this post. That's all you have to do. I'll draw a name at random at 9 am ET today and announce the winner shortly thereafter. As for rules, they simply are:
1. You can enter every giveaway I have through the course of today, but only enter once per giveaway. In other words, you can leave ONE comment on EACH book giveaway today so you have the chance to win every time a book is given away. If you leave more than one comment on any one giveaway though, your entries will be invalid for that particular giveaway.
2. The drawing will be final and I will be the complete and final judge (don't worry, I'll be fair).
3. U.S. mailing addresses only.
4. If you win, I will wait for a week for you to respond to an email I send you telling the procedure to get your free book. If you don't respond within this time, I'll hold another drawing and give it away to someone else.
Good luck!
This series is brought to you by Emigrant Direct.

Hi:
Read the intro & first chapter from the web site. Thought I'd like to have a copy of the book to pass on to my daughter & son in law so they can use this information.
