While I'm on vacation, I've arranged for Typepad to highlight a few of my best posts from this month last year.
This time, I'd like to highlight Check Your Bank's Math. Personally, I balance my checkbook EVERY month TO THE PENNY. ;-)

Ever since getting a PDA many years ago, I've dumped my paper-based checkbook for an electronic version. It's faster, more accurate, and like you say, can check the bank's own math. My wife and I share Microsoft Money and have the Money application (via ultrasoft.com) on both our Sony Clie's. We do our budgeting, synchronize our expenses and we always know where we stand financially. The best part is that we're on the same page every time. We still bicker once in a while on who gets to spend what, but it's an equitable arrangement. And by the way, we balance our 'checkbook' everyDAY - to the penny! ;)
