Here's part four of our coverage of Smart Money's piece on how to save 50% on everything. In this post they give ideas on how to save 50% on entertainment expenses. Their ideas that I like:
- At StubHub.com, ticketholders sometimes sell tickets for less than face value. If you want to plan ahead, try TheaterMania.com or BroadwayBox.com.
- [Use] early-bird specials and cheapie Monday-night menus [at restaurants]. For more flexibility, Restaurant.com sells $25 gift certificates for $10 for more than 7,500 restaurants. Print your instant certificate and show it to the waiter when you order.
- DVD-by-mail outfit Netflix often tests different prices for its service. On any given day, folks may be offered basic subscriptions ranging from $4.99 to $9.99. If you don't get a deal, delete the cookie files on your Web browser and return to the site until you get a price you like.
Some good tips here (not great, but good). I didn't know about the differing deals on Netflix, so that one is especially useful.
