One of the books I have in my review pile is The Real Guide to Making Millions Through Real Estate. I haven't had the chance to even look at it yet (I hope to soon), but since the author was available for an interview now, I decided to go ahead and talk with Lisa Vander, author of The Real Guide to Making Millions Through Real Estate to get her thoughts on investing in real estate. Here's part 1 of our discussion:
Free Money Finance (FMF): What led you to write “The Real Guide to Making Millions through Real Estate?”
Lisa Vander (LV): I was inspired to write “The Real Guide to Making Millions Through Real Estate” because I saw so many new and seasoned investors spend their money for real estate investing without having a clear understanding of how real estate works over time. Investors with education and strategy make wiser decisions and are able to stay in real estate when market conditions adjust over time.
FMF: Tell us in your own words what the book is about.
LV: “The Real Guide to Making Millions Through Real Estate” is a real estate investment book that gives the investor foundational information on how real estate works for long term wealth development. “The Real Guide to Making Millions Through Real Estate” also provides step by step instruction of “How To” safely invest and keep their capital growing in real estate. There are many graphs, worksheets and instructions that bring the theory of real estate investing into action for every investor.
FMF: What are the core concepts of the book?
LV: There are several:
- Investing in real estate is a marathon, not a sprint. Successful wealth development takes time by implementing sound investment strategies. Having a Real Estate Plan guides investors into knowing where they are going and how to make adjustments within their Plan to ensure they arrive at their financial goals.
- Real estate investing is powerful when it is defined in terms of the overall rate of return on the equity in the property. This equity definition includes four major components: Appreciation, Cash Flow, Loan Reduction, and Tax Benefits. Investors who analyze their properties annually based on the Rate of Return on Equity (ROE) have the capacity to compare and contrast other real estate opportunities in the market place based on mathematics and solid analysis.
- Successful investors know how to read market conditions and are prepared for these adjustments by learning how to use specific loans in different markets and by having good property management techniques.
- Investors who understand and are prepared for real estate market adjustments are able to stay in real estate regardless of market conditions. Long term investment strategies secure wealth development for the average busy investor who wants to know that their real estate investing will be here today, tomorrow and into the future.
FMF: Who is the book written for?
LV: The theories in this book are for everyone who wants to have financial security. This book is great for the beginner investor who wants to learn the fundamentals with a step by step process for getting into action. This book also teaches the seasoned investor how to increase their profits and diversify their already existing real estate portfolio.
-----------------------------------
So far, the interview is simply a "get to know" the book and what it's about. But as you'll see in part 2 tomorrow, she offers some really great (and balanced) advice for investing in real estate. You won't want to miss it.

I'm a ragging Capitalist so here's hoping she makes a ton of money in royalties-just goes to show that in a saturated book market there is always room for one more voice!

Real Estate Investing Rocks... especially commercial real estate! Does the book cover this topic?
Does the author have a blog?
