I realize that my post titled 301 Saving Money Posts -- Hundreds of Ideas on How to Save Money was a bit long and it can get pretty over-whelming to look at all those money saving tips at once. As such, I decided to post sub-sections of that list every once in awhile so you can look at all the money saving posts I have on one particular topic (a much more manageable task.) Today I'm listing tips on (of all things) saving money on cutting your hair. Here goes:

You're kidding right? I'm sure it would save money. It wouldn't save my dignity though - I'm quite happy to spend $100 so I don't have to walk around for months looking like a butcher cut my hair. There's a difference between being frugal and being cheap, and this is where I draw that line!
Although if you shave your head or get a buzz cut, you could do that yourself and look fine.

I'm a hair stylist. I love it when people think that they can cut or color their own hair because when they mess up it is easy for me to charge them more to fix it!

I cut my own hair as well. Since I have a buzz cut it would be pretty hard to mess up. I don't see a need to pay for a hair cut that requires no skill.

sometimes your blog goes from financial advice to preposterous penny pinching tips. maybe you should caveat all these ridiculous ideas with a warning.
actually now that I think about it, for most people this is probably a monetary loss. Presenting yourself well could lead to a bigger raise. just a 1% raise over the longterm would negate this nonsensical idea.
