Here's today's quote from a satisfied You Need a Budget user:
"I purchased YNAB Pro because there is something radically different about this product versus so many other "likes". I realised you didn't create a tool with a philosophy, but a philosophy with a tool. Whether or not you invented the philosophy is not what matters, it's that you made it appealing. What gets me excited is the principles I will start to apply in my life, supported by YNAB. And I must say YNAB is an impressive support, much like when from time to time we need a life or fitness coach. I am the spontaneous spender, but in less than a week of discovering YNAB I'm already making simple decisions like making my own hot chocolate (provided free here at work), rather than going down to the cafe to get one for $3. I really like the graphs that show a snapshot of spendings by category. Instantly I can see where my money is pouring into, which wakes me up (like not realising I spend more on lunch money than things like fitness). This program should have mass appeal because a lot of people don't want to engage in "daily" budgeting using complex programs like MS Money or Quicken. Fast and simple is the best way to keep interested and in momentum. I know this is a simple program but over time I reckon it can continue getting better to be one of the best tools everyday people use in their lives. I've seen other "envelope" budgeting tools and systems on the web, but most are online versions and a bit more complex. I like YNAB because it sits in my USB dongle and it's with me everywhere I go with no tedious logging into websites. Very neat." - John
I am giving away a copy of You Need a Budget every day here at Free Money Finance from December 15 to December 31. Here's how it will work:
- I'll post every day announcing the contest for that day.
- All you'll need to do to enter that day's drawing will be to leave any comment on that post.
- Sometime on Monday, I'll select a winner at random and announce with a new post that a winner has been selected. (NOTE: I won't name any winners this weekend, but will name the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday winners on Monday.)
- It will be the winner's responsibility to email me their contact information.
- I'll then send the winner's information to the You Need a Budget people and they'll work out getting the prize delivered.
A few rules for these giveaways:
1. You can not win more than one prize.
2. I will be the complete and final judge.
3. Legal disclaimer: I can not guarantee safe delivery of the items. I've worked with the YNAB people before and they're great, so I'm sure it will all work out smoothly. That said, I won't be held accountable if there's a mess up.
4. If you win something and do not contact me within a week of winning, I reserve the right to give your prize away to another winner. I won't track down the winners -- it's your responsibility to come back and see if you won.
5. Local laws, rules, and regulations apply.
Good luck! Post a comment below for your chance to win!

If you are following along, I am testing out a new religion each day. The day I am selected i will convert to that religion. (Disclaimer: I probably am not going to convert). So I found a random religion generator through Google and yesterday I was atheist. Didn't win.
If I win today I will convert to..... Buddhism

You've gotta be in it to win it!
Wait! Isn't that an ad slogan for the lottery?
Forget the lottery! It's a loser's game.
Unless it's a FREE lottery, like this contest. Then it's a different story.
So count me in for today's drawing!
Good luck, everybody!
