It's that time of year -- the time when every personal finance publication (including this one -- here are my resolutions) lists resolutions you should consider for the next year. I thought I'd highlight what a few of them were advising. We'll start with Financial Resolutions for the New Year by Smart Money magazine. Their list:
1) Ditch Your Debit Card
2) Boost the Earning Power of Your Checking and Savings Accounts
3) Stick to a Budget
4) Don't Forget to Save For Retirement
5) Pick the Best Credit Card
Now, here's a list from Suze Orman at Yahoo telling how to Get Your Financial Priorities Straight for 2008. Her list:
- Tackle Your Debt
- Scrutinize Your Budget
- Do the Right (Retirement) Thing
- Plan Ahead
Are these starting to sound familiar? ;-)
Finally, here's a list from MSN Money highlighting 10 ways to simplify your life in 2008:
- Use direct deposit.
- Get true overdraft protection.
- Consolidate your accounts.
- Consider two checking accounts.
- Set up a high-yield savings account.
- Create alerts.
- Move your due dates.
- Create a bill calendar.
- Pick the no-brainer options.
- Monitor your money.
So, anyone out there sick of resolutions yet? ;-)

I resolve to ignore all resolution posts, articles, news stories, etc. :)
