One of my 11 great ways to make more money is to turn your hobby into an income. And recently I suggested that you could make some extra money by renting out part of your home. Well, here's a couple that's combined the two ideas into one. In MSN Money's list of six smart ways to retire sooner, they detail this story:
"I wanted to buy a lot of great ham radio equipment," confesses Brad Goersch, a retired technology executive who moved to Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands last year with his wife, Donna.
So to justify the purchase of powerful radios and giant towers on their newly purchased hillside property -- and to generate some extra income -- the couple rent out their ground floor, a self-contained apartment, to fellow ham-radio buffs who travel from as far afield as Japan and Belarus in order to broadcast from the exotic locale.
If you're willing to be creative and a bit flexible, there are lots of ways to make a bit more money.
How about you? Anyone out there have some unusual ways to make a bit more income?

i am not sure if i posted this idea on this site or not. if i already did, please disregard. if i didn't....
i do some senior assistance in my community for extra
money; simple housework, odd jobs, rides to hair appts., etc. noticed that most older people spend most of their time in only a couple favorite rooms and their carpets get pretty worn in those areas. went out and spent $100 on a hoover steam vac and got a lot of work just doing smaller jobs. then went out and got some work doing just small offices or businesses that didn't want to deal with having a regular service come in with all the bigger equipment.
most people were pretty pleased with the job and price so got a fair amount of tips (and call backs). seniors are especially happy to find someone they can trust to come in their homes and pass the word on to friends.

I was always good with numbers and maths, and through some family and friends I started Maths tutoring to junior and senior high kids for $20 an hour. Before I knew it this part time job to help some family friends turned into 10 students, netting me $200 p/week for 10 hrs work. Helped me partly fund my expenses in school/university.

I'm currently studying for my foundation license with the North Wales ARS club. And will be taking the exam in early June and I hope to receive my M6 call sign soon afterward.
