Anyone off the see the new Batman movie this weekend? If so, you better get there early. Sounds like it's pretty crowded in the theaters.
A co-worker of mine said she's going and has heard reports that the show has been sold out and running constantly since 12:01 am this morning. She's hoping to see it this weekend.
I plan on seeing the movie in a couple weeks -- once the traffic has died down a bit. I certainly want to see it on the big screen, but I HATE watching a movie in a totally packed theater. Not my idea of a good time. I know that some people thrive on a big crowd -- not me.
How about you? Are you going to see the Caped Crusader this weekend?

Probably next week and we'll do a mid-week, early evening show for the same reason of avoiding the crowds. There's no doubt in my mind this will be the biggest movie of the summer. Yesterday evening my wife, who has zero interest whatsoever in seeing any type of superhero movie (think kicking, screaming, dragging fingernails across the floor to avoid seeing one) asked about seeing it.

Not this weekend. I'm like you, like the theatre but not the experience.

I went and saw it last night at 12:01 am. The movie was fantastic for anyone - not just superhero fans. Heath Ledger was amazing.
However, the packed theater was a pain - the theater must not have remembered to keep the a/c on over night and the place was blistering hot.
Also, the midnight movie is making work quite a drag today. Lucky FMF is here to keep me company!

We wait to see movies. This weekend we'll see Hellboy, since everyone will be at Batman. Then next week we'll take advantage of BOGO on movies and use the Discover Card at Fandango to buy the tickets.

I ususally have the same policy of waiting for a week or two for the crowds to die off.
As a side-effect, this tends to save me money -- I was going to see Iron Man, but then Indiana Jones came out and that made the top of my list and now Batman is out and that is the top of my list...and life is too busy for me to see more than one movie. (OK that last part was supposed to come out as somewhat sarcastic, but it really comes across as sad to me...)

I love movies but do not like to go to the movie theater due to crowds and the associated noise. There are people that get up during the movies (walking in front of you), crying children, ringing cell phones, etc. As such, I joined the crowd of home theater enthusiasts and have built a theater in my basement. Front projectors have come down in price and with a 100" screen, I get the big movie experience. Picture and sound quality are much better than the commerical movie theaters as well. Therefore, I will wait until this comes out on DVD (Blu-Ray).

My DH loves Batman and he probably would drag me to see it today, if the tickets are still available. Luckily, it is sold out currently, so we would have no choice but to wait.

I saw it at an exclusive pre screening event yesterday and will definitely recommend the movie to everyone. It's the must watch movie of this summer and you need to watch it just for "THE JOKER"

I'm gonna take my wife to see it at the drive in.

Normally I wait until the craziness has died down to go see a big movie in theaters, but I have been eagerly anticipating this movie since Batman Begins ended -- and even more so once I learned Heath was Joker. I will not wait a day longer than I have to! We have one IMAX theater here in Austin and my boyfriend and I bought 6:30 tix for tonight two weeks ago. The 9:15 was already sold out! I just looked again and every show is sold out through Monday. I had friends who saw it at midnight but I knew that would make work miserable. I'm so excited that first thing after work I get to see the movie I've been anticipating for so long. I normally hate the opening night crowds and chaos, but for Dark Knight, I am more than willing!

Nope. I'm kinda dull. Will wait for it to be on DVD and borrow from my library.

Saw it last night at 12... amazing. Heath Ledger's performance = excellent!
Now I want to see it in IMAX :)

I saw it at the midnight screening and it was great. The movie kept giving and giving, Heath Ledger was amazing, everyone else was great. Overall go and see it for sure.

there's a clip on msnbc.com that most folks in this recession are still shelling out money for movies cuz honestly, it's still cheaper than sports games and theatre and concerts. I didn't like that I had an evening ticket and missed the matinee price, but the movie was worth every penny!!! (at least I went back home to eat dinner instead of buying a costly hotdog/nachos)

Next weekend maybe or later.

I didn't stand in line for hours or anything...my friends and I were already off for the day to go on a rafting trip, so before we left, we headed to the movie theatre. At 9:30am, you don't really have to fight people for seats. There were probably 20 people max in the theatre!

My wife and I went to see both HellBoy II and Dark Knight. HellBoy II wasn't as good as the first one (I preferred the animated movies that have been released since 1 over the full theatrical 2), but Dark Knight was great. No waiting in lines in either case (maybe 10 people in the theater for HellBoy II, stood behind one guy for tickets to Dark Knight). The theater was crowded, but nobody was bumping elbows. Heath did the best Joker I've seen, possibly the best performance of his career (better than Brokeback Mountain), but I wouldn't call it Oscar material. Christian Bale is still the best Bruce Wayne (IMHO) but not the best Batman - although he's getting better. Michael, Morgan and Gary were impressive, as usual. Overall, A+ and I'll probably go see it in the theater again before it cycles out. Definately adding it to the DVD collection when it comes out.

I saw it this weekend. Great movie, but much darker than its predecessors. IMAX was sold out but the regular theater wasn't bad.
