Way, way, way off topic here, but I need help and thought someone out there may be able to give me some advice. The situation:
- Chelsea plays Manchester United this Sunday in the English Premier League
- I'd like to see it
- The owner of my company has Direct TV/satellite
- Is the game anywhere on any system that can be reached from the US? If so, what time, station, etc.? I need details.
Thanks if you can help.

Check either GolTV or FSC (Fox Soccer Channel) for listings...There's one other channel too..."SET" I think. Check out the websites...those are your best options

I'm an avid premier league fan and I know that the Chelsea v. Man U game is on FSC (Fox Soccer Channel) on Sunday at 9:00 am eastern time. As far as Direct TV goes you'll need the Sports package in order to get FSC.

Thanks, all! That's very helpful.

So, basically, there's about six of you that care about soccer. That sounds about right. :-)

BTW, for those of you who think there's no connection between finance and soccer, does anyone (other than the commenters above) know who is the main sponsor for Manchester United and has its name on their jerseys? The company has had lots of financially-related news the past few days... :-)

AIG - Do I win a HUGE bean bag?
PS: I always thought we would get along well... Now with the Premiership reference, I know we would. As long as you aren't rooting for the blues.

I hate to disappoint you, but "blue is the color..."

If it's just the one game you may be better off heading to a local British Pub and just nursing one pint for the duration of the game, rather than subscribing to new channels.
(From a frugal point of view)

I checked ESPN 360 with no success. However, it's an excellent choice for the frugal-ites out there who don't want to pay for the super duper sports packages. I can watch about 5 to 6 college games every Saturday.

At least AIG are still standing ... West Ham's sponsors are XL, who went bust to much fanfare a couple of days ago!
Call your local Irish pub and go down there to watch it ... you'll probably have to pay in, but better craic.

Where FMF lives, he won't be able to have a beer at a pub at 9am est sinces its a Sunday due to the dumb blue laws.

No blue laws where I live. But since July 1 you can't smoke. Iowa is now considering allowing video gambling machines in bars to make up for the business hit they say they have taken since the smoking ban. Go figure!
Who's favored in this game? Is Brett Farve playing?

Setanta and Fox Soccer are your best bets to be able to watch Premiership games regularly in the US. Setanta is $15 a month however, I think I only pay $5 a month for FSC. I live in St. Louis and there are a couple of sports bars around that open up early for games, I'm not always up for a pint at 8am, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere.
I really wish there was a Season Ticket type option for the EPL, I'm a big Spurs fan (rather embarassingly at the moment) and wish there was a way to watch all the games. I read an article where ESPN was planning on bidding for EPL games when the next bidding opened. I believe that was mostly for European broadcast but it would be pretty cool to see an EPL game on mainstream TV every Saturday morning, hopefully help grow the game some more in the US.

Man how great to hear that someone is wanting to see the EPL. When will all americans realize soccer IS the greatest sport in the world....
