FMF,

The ex marketing executive...
The government and lawyer experience...

Great stories! And I can relate to them.

Some day you should write about exciting experiences in your marketing career. Even if it's not about money directly, loving your job helps your career indirectly.

I LOVE THIS SERIES. lol.

As a college student, I wish more people shared their working experiences publicly. There's a lot of wonderful insights to pick up. Thanks.

You can get paid a more-than decent salary working for a private company for not doing much, too :) I can point you to some of my co-workers!

In regards to the "who you know not what you know," I think that is much more rampant in the private sector. The government has a lot of stipulations they must follow for promotions and the pay scales are all spelled out. Camaraderie happens everywhere, but I wouldn't say it happens more in the government!

Andddd I lived in DC. You are right, DC is a great city. I would definitely go back.
