Today I'm posting Proverbs 22:29, which is what I consider to be the best verse on your career in the entire Bible. From the NIV:
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.
And from the New Living Translation:
Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people.
And finally from the Message
Observe people who are good at their work -- skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don’t take a backseat to anyone.
We've talked a lot about how your career is your most valuable financial asset and the fact that with a few, simple steps you can make the most of it. This verse seems to endorse that line of thinking -- that if you are a good worker and can perform well (one of the main criteria in growing your career), you will be rewarded for it. How? You'll serve among the highest positions in the land.
And do you think the highest positions in the land pays better or worse than other jobs? :)
