One of my favorite financial advisors is Jean Chatzky. She does a great job of blending financial issues with real-life practicalities to come up with suggestions that really work for the everyday person.
Her latest article is about money clubs (and how they aren't just about stocks anymore), but what caught my eye was the list of financial topics that Money Magazine readers said were the ones they needed help with. I'm assuming that the needs of Money readers are different than those of the average person (after all, they are subscribing to a personal finance magazine so they should be a bit more savvy), but this does give us some insight into the financial topics people want to discuss (not to mention topics I should consider writing more about). The top five:
1. Saving more for retirement
2. Diversifying a portfolio
3. Paying down debt
4. Saving more for kids' education
5. Investing in real estate or buying a home
Do these reflect the topics you want to hear about most? If not, what would you like to read about?
