Here's a money saving tip for you who (like me) love gardening:
Use newspapers as an alternative to the more expensive mulch available at nurseries and garden supply stores. Layering newspaper underneath your existing mulch will help stop weed growth and promote moisture retention. Since it’s biodegradable, the newspaper will turn into soil.
... Just remember that colored newspaper contains lead.

Some cities have FREE mulch - the city makes mulch out of yard waste and all you have to do is come and pick it up!
