Here's a money saving tip to help you save on those (expensive) restaurant expenses:
When you go out to eat, make it for breakfast or lunch. Prices are typically lower than during the dinner hours. Saving five dollars using this tip every other week saves you $130 a year.
Two words for you: McDonald's pancakes. My kids LOVE them and they are cheap and easy. We can get more food there for half the price of places like Denny's and Bob Evans (and those places are pretty cheap themselves). One tip if you're a soda fan -- order the small and refill often. Refills are free at McDonald's.
One last thing: learn from my mistake and ask the price before you order at a different time of day. I went to a Chinese buffet the other day and was charged $15 for what I thought was a $7.50 meal. Turns out I was past the "lunch" time and into "dinner" time by an hour, hence the higher price (for the same exact meal). I had assumed it would either be the lunch price or a couple dollars more at the most. Last time I'll let that happen.
Always use coupons if available. The 2/1 offers are good even when eating alone. You can the 2nd meal to go and eat it the next day.

Speaking of McDonald's and eating out...
Every now & again the McD's in WalMart runs a special to attack breakfast customers.
$1.39 egg-o-muffins, with a small coffee.
Nothing like a quick breakfast for 2 for under $4.

Tip-4-Two
Eat half as much!! Order one meal and split
it, then maybe an extra salad or appetizer.
Also, forget expensive sodas and ice teas, etc.
Order WATER with a lemon/lime wedge and add a sprinkle of splenda for a fine light beverage!!
