The only thing better than hearing about someone’s great bargain is being able to get that same deal yourself. Here’s part 12 of my "The Best Deal I Ever Got" series:
Help Your Hired Help
“I decided to replace the worn and outdated vinyl tiling in the kitchen & dining area (approximately 300 sq. feet) with ceramic tile. I was able to reduce the cost of the project by acting as an assistant to the contractor (more like a runner boy) and doing the grouting myself. The contractor did the hard part of making the floor even, laying out the tile, cutting it and setting it in the mortar. The grout work was easy but time consuming and doing this by myself saved his valuable time and my money.”
Total Savings: $700

Great idea for those who can find friendly contractors.
Hope the job looks very nice. You should post pictures :)
