Financially independent people are happier than those in their same income/age cohort who are not financially secure.
Ok, I'm a bit slow sometimes, but even I could have guessed this! ;-)
I don't think it's that "money makes you happy" as much as being financially secure eliminates a lot of worry, arguments, etc. within families. That's my guess as to why they are happier.
