I used a few of these techniques in my last drive to get a raise and promotion. Another that worked well was comparative inequity. Evaluating others on your team and basing your position on what you believe theirs to be. Basically you can leverage inequities amongst you and your peers to seek raises/promotions. Of course, you would also need to highlight your contributions and actually be a valuable member of the team.
