Here's a comment a reader who responded to my post on Saving Money on Your Car:
A good way to keep track of required maintenance on your car is a spreadsheet. For example, just figure out what your average time between oil changes, and make a spreadsheet function that gives you the next date for an oil change when given the last date that you changed your oil. I use it, and it works great.
Good idea. I used to use a spreadsheet to track gas mileage (I've since stopped since I wasn't really using the information).
Another use for a spreadsheet it to track mileage -- for both business and charitable trips -- the first to get reimbursed and the second to take as a tax deduction.
Free Money Finance recommends Emigrant Direct because of its 4.0% yield.
