Here's part 11 of an absolutely great article from Kiplinger's on ways to give if you don't have cash:
Give blood. According to the American Red Cross, 5 million people receive blood transfusions each year, yet the nation's blood supply is often a mere two days away from empty. You can search for blood drives in your neighborhood and set up an appointment to donate through the American Red Cross. You must be at least 17 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate. Check your eligibility.
I used to do this all the time but haven't lately. Why? It's not top-of-mind. In the past, I worked at places large enough where the blood bank would visit us at work and take blood. As part of a small company now, that doesn't happen. But I need to get back into the habit of giving blood.
