Here's a piece from MSNBC that outlines the various methods you can use to complete your income taxes. The options:
- Tax software.
- Storefront tax preparers.
- Certified public accountants.
- Tax attorneys.
As I've said before, I use a CPA because:
- They save me more than what I pay them simply because they know more about the tax law than I do.
- It saves me 30-40 hours worth of work. Even if my time was only worth $10 per hour (it's worth a lot more), I'd still be worth it.
- My taxes are complicated and have a few legal considerations that need to be followed closely. I feel better having a professional looking over the information.
If you're looking for options for tax preparation, FMF recommends: H&R Block. Do it yourself or have us do it. It's never been easier.
Can someone tell me if you can deduct mileage and toll road charges as a work expense? My husband drives 52 miles one way and pays 3.00 a day in toll fees?
Thank you
Kathy
