Call me old fashioned, but if I was invited to give a couple cash for a wedding, I'd probably pass on the whole affair. There's enough tackiness in the world already, and begging for money for a wedding crosses the line.

I agree. If they were truly frugal, they would have gotten married at City Hall, not asked their friends and family to pay for it.
