Is anyone out there enjoying this March Madness thing I'm doing? Maybe too many people are watching the real thing to pay attention to my posts. ;-)
I am certainly learning a lot -- about what I've written (I forgot several of these pieces!), what I like, and what makes a "great" post at Free Money Finance. I also learned that if I do this again, I need to seed the brackets. Some of the weaker posts made it too far simply because their challengers were even weaker while I often had two great posts go head-to-head (and only one could advance).
And, of course, I realize that in the first two rounds, there were waaaaaaaaay too many competitions for you to look at them all. Well, never fear -- from now on, there will only be a very readable number of articles on each post -- so few that you'll be able to view them all.
That said, we're now in the Sweet 16, the 16 remaining posts in my tournament to pick the best Free Money Finance post since November 1. (If you want to see where we've been, start at the original post and click through the links to view all the rounds.) Again, in each set, one will be declared to be better than the other. Here goes:
- 10 Nasty Money Habits to Kick versus 4 Habits of Successful Investors
- 5 Mistakes Investors Just Can't Afford versus Becoming a Millionaire -- A Real-Life Example
- Comments: How Much Would You be Willing to Spend to Save Your Pet's Life? versus Don't Let a Bank Tell You How Much to Borrow for a Home
- Even a Small Leak Can Empty Your Money Bucket Quickly versus
Getting Rich is Simpler than You Think
In the comments below, let me know if there are any of these you particularly like or dislike and I'll take that into account as I decide on the winners.
