In Elliptical Wars: My On-going Struggle with Sears, I documented my on-going struggle with Sears to repair my (ever-failing) elliptical machine. In the post I noted that they were supposed to make the repairs on August 23 (which was already two weeks after the appointment where they found the problem). Well, that's not going to happen.
They called late last week and said the console that needs replacing is on back order -- and it won't be available until September 12!!!!! Ugggggggh!!!! My wife set an appointment to have the machine fixed on September 13, but who knows if the part will get to us on time or not? In the meantime, the machine has stopped functioning almost completely -- shutting off every few minutes when you're using it.
So, I'll be without an elliptical for over a month -- at the best. As you can imagine, I'm not the least bit happy with Sears. What a nightmare! I will NEVER buy another piece of exercise equipment from them -- and wonder if I'll ever buy anything of value from them again. They've just messed this up so bad -- I'm not sure I can trust either the quality of their products or their willingness to stand behind/fix them.
Can't you just return it at this point? Sounds worth giving up on Sears.

I'm not sure -- I'd like to and be over with the nightmare. I'm going to contact them and see what my options are.

sorry to hear your problems i am a sears tech and i do agree that after several attempts the machine should of been replaced i dont know about the michine u have but i know with refrigerators and stuff like that they have a lemon law after 4 fuctional repairs with in a year they will replace it,on the other side when something is on back order that is out of sears hands that is the manufacture it would be the same nomatter where u got it from and for the time period for service i know we only have a few techs that do exercise machines so they r backed up but in my end for heating, air or refrigeration its within 2 days unless u live far out then its on sertian days of the week well hope we have resolved your problem if not try to write a letter to out main headquarters
