Here are a few tips that Smart Money listed as part of their piece on how to save $100 a month. Today, we'll talk about their list of saving on gasoline bills. Their suggestions:
- Use regular gas. Unless the manufacturer specifically recommends a high octane gasoline for your model, there's no performance advantage to filling your tank with anything other than regular unleaded.
- Drivers can improve fuel efficiency by up to 10% by observing the speed limit and accelerating and decreasing evenly.
- Shop around for gas.
I happen to be an "expert" on saving on gas costs. I feel like I've written a ba-zillion posts on the subject, so I should be at least a mini-expert by now. ;-)
I have more posts on the subject than these, but if you want to see an almost comprehensive list, click through to my Save on Gas post.
I'm a big fan of gasbuddy.com. It has helped save me a lot of money! Now I just have to work on that speed limit thing. LOL
