Here's a great money saving tip that a reader left on my post titled Five Tips to Save Money This Holiday Season:
A quick Google search with the store name and words "promotion code" or "coupon code" will often yield a code that can be entered at checkout. I haven't found a single site that regularly updates all retailers' codes and have found it best to do a general search when making a purchase. I routinely get free shipping this way, or at least 10 to 15% off.
What a great, simple way to save money. I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before she suggested it, but it's certainly something I'll use in the future. It could add up to some big bucks -- even if it's "only" free shipping every time I order something.
I've actually found that the website http://www.retailmenot.com/ updates regularly and has a fairly large database of coupon codes.
