Here's today's quote from a satisfied You Need a Budget user:
“Wow!! This new YNAB is fabulous. It is so user friendly and beautiful. I was so excited when I saw this new version, and I downloaded it right away!! Your program has really opened my eyes to where our money goes, and has helped us examine and alter our spending habits and be in charge of where our money goes. Thank you so much.” - Wendy M.
I am giving away a copy of You Need a Budget every day here at Free Money Finance from December 15 to December 31. Here's how it will work:
- I'll post every day announcing the contest for that day.
- All you'll need to do to enter that day's drawing will be to leave any comment on that post.
- Sometime the next day, I'll select a winner at random and announce with a new post that a winner has been selected.
- It will be the winner's responsibility to email me their contact information.
- I'll then send the winner's information to the You Need a Budget people and they'll work out getting the prize delivered.
A few rules for these giveaways:
1. You can not win more than one prize.
2. I will be the complete and final judge.
3. Legal disclaimer: I can not guarantee safe delivery of the items. I've worked with the YNAB people before and they're great, so I'm sure it will all work out smoothly. That said, I won't be held accountable if there's a mess up.
4. If you win something and do not contact me within a week of winning, I reserve the right to give your prize away to another winner. I won't track down the winners -- it's your responsibility to come back and see if you won.
5. Local laws, rules, and regulations apply.
Good luck! Post a comment below for your chance to win!
I'd like to give it a try.

I've been wanting to give YNAB a try, but the 15 day trial isn't quite enough to get a real feel for it. Thank you for the opportunity.

thanks for making YNAB available. I need some real help with this area of my life. YNAB, is only a tool, I understand that, and tools are only helpful if they are used. But having a tool, like YNAB, that is easy to access and provides real help would go a long way in helping us get unstuck with our budget (or lack of budget) mess. thanks,
bill

We have recently started on the long road trying to get out of debt and our finances in order. Subscribing to this site was one of the steps along with opening a savings account, actually putting money in it, tracking spending, etc.! This book would help so much!

Giving away a free YNAB? Awesome!
I'm gonna start the adventure that is financial blogging(Broke at 25, Millionaire at 40...and shameless forever) very soon, and this step will be instrumental in helping me out.
So...I'm just gonna keep plugging away until I can get my hands on one, and save the green for little piddly things like debt reduction.

I took a look at this software last night. After painstakingly tracking my budget and networth in excel for the last three months I was amazed at what this program can do. It goes way beyond what Quicken and my own spreadsheets can do. I am working on paying down a huge amount of credit card debt, and am making progress but I would be in even better shape with this software. I have also been teaching my teen daughter how to budget her allowance. I think this program would be a great thing for my family. Of course, if I don't win it....i will have to find a way to squeeze it into my BUDGET!! HEHEHE

I wonder how well this works with commingled finances and home-business finances...and I wonder whether I'd get any cooperation from the other half. It would be good to try it.

Thanks for considering us. Looks like very good software (I've used Excel, but it obviously lacks in some functionality).

I need a budget - I'm hoping to win this one! I hope you will consider me for it. I think you will pick the best person for the prize and I hope I am the best person.
I'm trying to get out of debt and I've not succeeded - so I need a budget to help me get out of debt.
I know you will choose the right person.
