If you're wondering where your stimulus check from the IRS is, here's something you might be interested in from TurboTax:
Recently, you may have received a letter from the IRS advising you when to expect your Economic Stimulus Payment (rebate). That IRS letter may have inadvertently left off some important information. Taxpayers who chose to have their tax preparation fees deducted from their federal tax refund will receive their tax rebate in the mail, not via direct deposit.
Maybe this answers some questions for a few of you out there.
Thanks, Ellen, for passing on the info!
I actually had my tax prep fees deducted from my Federal refund and I did receive my check by direct deposit right on schedule...just wanted to pass the information on.
Thanks!

I deducted my TurboTax fees on my Fed Return and had my check direct deposited on May 5th. Not sure how accurate the initial post is...

I used turbotax and had to PAY federal taxes (did so via electronic transfer). I was supposed to have received the rebate check by the 16th and have nothing yet...

I used turbotax as well. Had my refund split and sent to two direct deposit accounts (a new feature offered this year.) I was supposed to get the rebate by the 16th and have nothing yet either.

Same as Jason, I did an electronic transfer to pay taxes and no check yet.

I should have received mine too...but nothing. Apparently the IRS has a check tracker, but it doesn't tell me anything important: https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC

I had to pay federal tazes, and I did so with a check. The stimulus tracker (online) says I have received my check via drirect deposit. I do not have online banking so I can not check until tomorrow. Anyone think this sounds right?

I dont know how much truth there is to getting no check if you owed on your 07 taxes. I owed $800 and I have been put on a payment plan, i have paid $100 so far. I received a letter and was advised to expect my stimulus payment by June 6, 2008. Today is 06/06/08, no check, but i got a letter stating i am getting one. You would think if i wasnt getting one i wouldnt of gotten a letter.

I am pretty sure I paid online for my return with my debit card. I went through H&R block online and did it myself. My last two digits are 90 and nothing yet. I was supposed to have recieved direct deposit of stimulus payment on May 16th, but nothing yet.

The people who got their money directed deposited after a anticipatory loan probably received one of the 'computer glitch checks" and will recieve another check later -they got my money dude (not really but STILL WAITING)

Got my stimulus check!
I took it to Food Lion for the 10% Bonus gift card. Total value $660 for stuff I was going to buy anyway, as frugally as possible. Although for me it will probably take up to four months to use it up.
Not bad when you can get a 10% tax-free return on investment!

Seems the IRS is like every other bureaucratic organization: Not Reliable. It's "hit or miss" with the so-called stimulus checks. I filed electronically, received it via direct deposit in February, still NOTHING, and according to the "schedule," I should have received it three weeks ago (and that's including the two-week waiting period after the date listed on the schedule).
