You may recall a "help a reader" post where the reader was asking about specifics on asking for a raise. Well, she took the advice you all dished out and here's what happened (from an email she sent me):
I wanted to give you the update on my raise situation I wrote to you about previously. I noted to you before that I had emailed my boss (in another state) my own review of myself, etc. When we met for my review, he gave me a 10% raise and a 10% bonus. As you may recall, I was looking for 15% but I figured that the 10 was good, considering he noted I could get another raise at my year end review, as well another bonus. I also considered that I am happy at my job, I'm very fortunate to have it, and that a few bucks is not worth haggling over, so it all worked out well.
I'd say it's good! A 10% raise PLUS a 10% bonus PLUS the chance for another raise and bonus at her annual review is quite good indeed! Thanks goes to those FMF readers who gave her such good advice.

Wow, nice work. Hopefully mine goes as well next week.
