We tried: We went around 1:30 p.m., and there was a line out the door. It was 12 degrees here and snowing, too. We decided it wasn't worth it. Too bad .. we'll try IHOP's promotion later this month.

I went right at 6 AM, out by 6:50 PM. The line filled the lobby when I left, but not out the door.

I thought about going because there's a Denny's less than a quarter mile from my house, but it's freezing here in MN too, and I figured I'd have to get up early to avoid waiting in line outside. Decided it wasn't worth it.

I'm a poor grad student, so of course I went! A friend and I left work at 10:45, and walked several blocks to the Denny's near school. We only waited in line for 25 minutes, and were done eating by 11:50. Grand Slam for only a dollar (tip). Nice!

If you did not want to go wait in line all store manageres were instructed to give customers who asked a voucher for free breakfast at a future time...!

I went at 6 am and was out at 7 am. I thought it was fun to be part of their promotion. I took my 9 year old daughter (she convinced me to take her) and it was like an adventure to her. The lobby was full of people but everybody was happy and positive, buzzing about how cool it was to get the Grand Slam for free.

Beats making the rounds at Costco for some samples

You win the prize!!!!! I KNEW someone was going to say that!!! ;-)

I heard they were handing out rainchecks.

Wonder how many breakfasts Denny's actually did give away. Does anyone really know?
