My suggestion would be to post it at the end of the comments of the original post, as well as include who won in your announcement post. I read your site through Google Reader, so unless I'm positive I signed up for that giveaway, I probably won't click on every link and then scroll to the bottom.

I was able to find MY name and thank you for the Entertainment Book.

I think it is a little unethical to run a contest for something and then put the responsibility on notifying the winner on someone else. That just shows that you run the contest purely to get contact information of subscribers then don't hold up your end of the bargain by being honest with the winner blog posting or not. You may want to put more responsibility on yourself to ensure a trustworthy business.

That's just the point -- I don't require people to submit any contact information -- and I don't want/intend to. Now if I wanted to require everyone to fill out a form to be entered, then yes, it would make it easier to contact the winner. But I wouldn't want to enter a giveaway where I had to list all my info and I assume most people wouldn't either.

Here's "my end of the deal": I post the giveaway, name the winner, and get them the prize when/if they contact me. All of that is stated up front. If you don't like the rules -- just like any other giveaway -- you don't need to participate.

Then again, I don't need to do giveaways at all...

"Then again, I don't need to do giveaways at all..."

Now there is a good idea, since I never win anything, I won't feel so bad then! ;)
