Here's a very interesting story. A guy wants to know what does and doesn't work for job interviews, so he sets up his own fake office, interviews people, records them and then comes up with a list of twenty steps people can take to nail a job interview. I have no way of verifying whether or not this story is true, but I must say that his list is pretty good. In fact, you've heard much of it from me already. Here's the list along with a link to an FMF post that gives more detail (where available):
1. 10 seconds to sell or say so long
2. Be on time
3. Cell phone off
4. Know the company, and why you want to work there
5. Bring resumes
6. Bring a notepad
7. Dress in a clean conservative manner
8. Profiles to private
9. Don't make jokes
10. Don't babble
11. Don't badmouth a boss
12. Don't flirt with the interviewer
13. Don't play with your face/hair
14. Less is more
15. Have good eye contact
16. Have goals
17. Have accomplishments
18. Have passion
19. Ask Questions
20. Send a thank you note
Overall, a great list IMO.
And if you want to see how NOT to nail an interview, check out the videos on the page linked above. Too funny!!!
21. Practice what you are going to say before the interview.

22. Eventually when every body learn of these tricks and practice them, it is fierce competition again !
