One (largely unknown) benefit of having an American Express card is that you can get a $100 statement credit when you book a vacation worth $3,000 or more. I was originally excited when I heard this since I thought I'd be able to save a hundred bucks off my Caribbean cruise. But there's one problem: you have to book the vacation through American Express' vacation website in order to get the $100. And for my particular cruise, Amex is about $300 more expensive than Costco, so I'll be booking with the warehouse club. Ugh.
That said, I still wanted to bring this benefit to your attention since some of you (or someone searching the web) might be booking with American Express and want to pick up an easy $100. The benefit is called the Annual Travel Benefit (how original, huh?) and you can find details on it here.
What happened when you called the price difference to AmEx's attention? They are usually soooo good about that sort of thing.

Didn't ask. I haven't booked yet, so maybe I'll call them back and ask. :-)
