Interesting observation.

Instead of following the herd and buying on the up swing and selling in the panic and knee jerk reactions, know, think about, and execute calculated moves in the utlimate goal of winning.

Something I strive for but I still need practice at.

I tried playing chess when I was young but I did not enjoy it. I would have loved learning the techniques and how it stimulates our analytical mind. But as you said, it takes a lot of patience, which I think I do not have.

Chess is just one method of applying concepts learned to other tasks and therefore you do not need to play chess to learn these techniques. You can either learn from other exercises or just learn the techniques directly however boring that is to you.

Chess is difficult to pick up for those who lack or are weak with spatial arrangements. Women especially are prone to it and as you see few women love chess. Though personally I've played and have been beaten by one exceptional young lady!

I love the 4 questions, those are great questions for every walk of life. I was particularly struck by the difference between "can" and "should".
Thanks.
