Who doesn't love the Beatles? Their music is simply timeless. Forty years after they "made it big" the world is still listening to their songs. Unbelievable. And they've made a ton of money along the way too. A TON of money.
I always thought that the money was just a by-product of what they did. I saw them as anti-war, anti-establishment, and anti-money. Then I ran into this quote. It's from Paul McCartney and is found on page 28 of the summer issue of Success magazine. Paul is quoted as saying:
The Beatles were anti-materialistic? That's a myth. John and I used to sit down and say, "Now, let's write a swimming pool."
Ha! What a classic quote! Who knew that when they sat down to "write a swimming pool" they'd sometimes be writing enough to buy a few small lakes -- or even a sea. ;-)
